What and Why of ACS RPL Report ?

Posted on September 18, 2021October 29, 2021 By Paul Thomas

Aspirants who want to migrate to Australia as an engineer frequently struggle to find answers to their questions. However, this will no longer be the case. We’re here to answer any questions you may have about the ACS RPL report, including the ACS RPL Processing Time and why RPL is required.

So, without any delay, let’s take a look at the article…

Here we go…

What is an RPL Report?

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) report is a report that aspirants wishing to migrate to Australia and pursue a job in ICT-related industries but do not have a degree in ICT or come from a different background submit to the Australian Computer Society (ACS).

Within an RPL application – ACS Recognition of Prior Learning Form – you must submit two project reports. Each report must include a full account of your career and work experience, as well as appropriate evidence of using the stated ICT knowledge in a professional setting. Here are the guidelines that you should follow:

  • The project report on Recognition of Prior Learning must be authentic; this implies your RPL report should be fully your effort.
  • All quoted or paraphrased content, along with the sources included in the Project Report, must be cited.
  • Your report should be plagiarism-free.
  • You must supply enough information to show the depth and breadth of your ICT knowledge.

Note: Failure to reveal material from a Project Report that is not your own will result in an inappropriate evaluation and a report to DIBP of fraudulent behavior. So make sure you submit true work according to the ICT guidelines.

Who needs to submit an RPL report?

Candidates who wish to migrate to Australia and pursue a job in ICT-related industries but do not have a degree in ICT or come from an unrelated background need to submit an RPL report to the Australian Computer Society (ACS). Thus, even if candidates do not have enough ICT qualifications or come from an ICT background, ACS Skill Assessment provides a great opportunity for them to exhibit their acquired knowledge and abilities through the RPL report.

The applicants eligible for the ACS RPL are classified into two groups:

Applicants without an ICT degree must have at least six years of experience working as a professional ICT employee in a field related to the specified occupation ANZSCO code.

Applicants without a tertiary education must have an additional two years of work experience as ICT skilled employees (8 years total). However, the additional two years do not have to be related to the ANZSCO code.

Why is an RPL Report a necessity?

The RPL application is designed to allow applicants who do not have an ICT educational certificate to demonstrate that they have gained an equivalent level of expertise. Applicants are needed to submit two project reports as proof of their level of knowledge. Know that your reports should demonstrate quality work in addition to your expertise.

What is the procedure for applying for an ACS Skill Assessment?

If you want to apply for skilled migration to Australia, you must strictly adhere to the ACS standards. To begin, review your visa criteria and use the ANZSCO code information guide to determine which occupational category your work experience falls within.

Once you have gathered complete information, you’re set to take the next step. Go to the official website of ACS https://www.acs.org.au and fill out the online application form. Even if your university qualification lacks adequate ICT content, the ACS skill assessment allows you to apply provided you have six years of relevant work experience. In the case, you lack tertiary qualifications you will need to submit an RPL report and establish that you have eight years of relevant work experience.

What’s more?

If you wish to apply for ACS skills evaluation for immigration to Australia, you must first fulfill the requirements below.

  • Get your skills assessed by an ACS body online.
  • Prepare for the PTE exam.
  • Send in your Expression of Interest (EOI) (Expression of Interest)
  • Wait for ITA to arrive.
  • Get your PCC (POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE) and medical done once you acquire your ITA.
  • Pay the visa charge.

Candidates should submit two project reports via the ACS Project Report Form for RPL Assessment – 1) The project completed in the last three years should be described in one report, and 2) The project completed in the last five years should be included in another.

Make sure that the work you submit is original. Additionally, when submitting your application on the ACS website, follow the rules listed below.

  • Fill out the Online Application Form with the PDF files of your documents.
  • For each qualification and employment entry, combine all pages into a single PDF document.
  • Make sure you submit high-quality color scans (at least 300dpi).
  • Document certification is not necessary.
  • Make sure your PDF files aren’t encrypted or restricted to read-only mode.

ACS RPL Processing Time

ACS Skill Assessment has no specified time frame for processing completion. When it comes to ACS RPL Processing Time – it takes eight to ten weeks after you submit your RPL application.
