How To Prepare A Successful ACS RPL Report

Preparing a successful ACS RPL report requires a lot from an applicant. They have to prepare the required documents, write the report following the ACS guidelines and follow the tips given by experts to write an RPL report.

If you are confused in any of these three areas, reading this blog will familiarize you with the requirements and instructions in each room. So, take a deep breath and read the whole blog.

To be assessed by ACS based on an RPL report, you must submit two project reports using the ACS Project Report Form. In one report, the must have been taken on within the last 3 years, and in the second report, the project must have been taken on within the previous 5 years. There are some parameters given below that must be taken into account for ACS Skill Assessment:

  1. The network topology with size and installed safe facilities
  2. The different kinds of techniques adhered to in quality assurance and project management
  3. The candidate’s contribution to the design and implementation processes
  4. The methods utilized in the design and system analysis
  5. The different techniques used in file and database design and management
  6. The programming languages used and other types of procedures that were adopted for design paradigms
  7. The Internet-based app design and security measure implementation.
  8. The managerial activities in ICT must provide details regarding the nature of responsibilities.

 

How to Apply for the ACS RPL Skill Assessment? 

If dreaming of skilled migration to Australia, you have to adhere to the guidelines given by ACS. First, go through your visa requirements and then look at the ANZSCO code list to see and find which category will be relevant to your engineering work experience.

Afterward, you have to fill the online application form on the official site. Remember, even if you don’t have good ICT content in your tertiary qualification, ACS still allows you to apply if you have at least 6 years of experience.

If you don’t even have tertiary qualifications, you can apply, but you need to have a total of eight years of work experience. The additional two years of work experience are not mandatory for the ANZSCO job code you are applying for. Follow the given steps to apply for skills assessment in ACS for Australia immigration.

  • Have skill assessment done by ACS authority online
  • Prepare for PTE examination
  • Submit EOI, which is Expression of Interest
  • Await ITA
  • When you get your ITA, you need to get your PCC, which stands for Police Clearance Certificate, and medical done.
  • Pay the visa fee

Documents Required for ACS RPL Report: 

  1. Passport or birth certificate
  2. Name change evidence document
  3. Resume or CV
  4. Educational qualification evidence: bachelor’s degree (if having, master’s degree) with details like:
  • Award in education/ degree title
  • The university name where the degree was earned
  • The completion date of the education degree
  • Course details like the marks or grades you earned for each subject or unit

A color scan of the job references on business letterhead or a third-party statutory declaration. The work experience document must be consist of the following:

  • Employment start and end date. If still working, write the end date as ‘To date.’
  • Explanation of all the job roles and responsibilities in the employment period.
  • Mention whether the job was full-time or part-time, also include work hours in a week.
  • The country name where you worked, different location names if worked in other locations of a country
  • Organization letterhead, which the author must sign along with their position, contact details, and name

ACS RPL Report Guidelines: 

  • Your RPL report must be of your actual situation work experience. If false information is included, then the report will be rejected.
  • If using others’ ideas, examples or diagrams, give them credit.
  • Keep your RPL report free from plagiarism. Don’t copy from the sources that are available online. If found plagiarized content, you will be reported to the IBP Department and might be banned. Therefore, use samples only for reference purposes and know the writing format.
  • ACS has advanced tools like the Turnitin tool, which helps it spot plagiarism. Therefore, write your report in your own words. Even if you write your own, don’t forget to check it for plagiarism, as you may have accidental plagiarism.
  • The job descriptions you use must be relevant to the employment responsibilities of the occupation you are applying for from the ANZSCO code list.

Experts give other tips for a perfect ACS RPL report: 

  • Choose your project carefully. Select the one that allows you to show your knowledge and skills as mentioned in any one of the ANZSCO codes that you wish to apply for.
  • Mention project details clearly, along with the name of the project, the affiliated company, and the role you were given in each of the tasks of the report.
  • Give a description of your roles and responsibilities for each project. Impressively describe how your ideas brought the desired result in the design and development of each project, highlighting your plus points.
  • Explain the methods applied in the System Analysis and Design of each project development.
  • Mention the programming language names used in the project to show your programming skills.
  • Cover all the database management techniques used in the project to show your DBMS skills.
  • Include project management and quality assurance techniques followed in the project development, showing your managerial skills. Explain the security mechanisms that were used in the project.
  • Give an impressive description of the ICT managerial activities, showing the extent and nature of your competencies and responsibilities.
