What Is ACS RPL Report For Australian Immigration

An ACS RPL report is the perfect way those IT professionals without IT qualifications or coming from the unrelated background. The full form of RPL is recognition of prior learning. It is a competency report a candidate needs to submit to the Australian Computer Society for immigration purposes. 

In other words, ACS provides a golden opportunity to those without IT qualifications or from different backgrounds to prove competence. Through the ACS RPL report, these candidates can prove their IT experience, knowledge and skills as per the Australian standard.

You can find the RPL Project Report Form on the official website of ACS. Here, you need to enter the details of your project. This form consists of two components you need to submit: 

Part 1: The Key Areas of Knowledge:

General ICT Knowledge 

Part 2: The RPL Project Report: 

This part summarizes the projects you were involved in and shows your ICT skills. The RPL project report is to demonstrate your understanding of the subject area as in Section 1. As per the authority, you need to submit two copies of the RPL project report. The first one should be from the past three years and the second one from before the last five years. 

Who can use the RPL ACS pathway? 

There are two categories of candidates who can use this pathway: 

  • Applicants without an ICT degree qualification who have six years of experience as an ICT employee can use this pathway. This work experience must be in a field related to the chosen occupation ANZSCO code. 
  • Applicants without tertiary qualifications can also use this pathway. However, they need to have a total of 8 years of experience (2 years of extra work experience). However, the additional two years of experience are not compulsory to be relevant to the ANZSCO code. 

ACS rules and regulations: 

The following are rules and regulations that ACS takes into account when evaluating a candidate: 

  • It is a must for a candidate to have at least six years of experience. 
  • The average job experience of those without adequate qualifications is 8 years. 
  • The competence of the candidate must be closely relevant to the chosen ANZSCO code. You can find ANZSCO codes on the ACS main website. When writing the report, emphasize your expertise in the related field in the report.
