The ACS (Australian Computer Society) website has clearly mentioned the RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) report requirements. There is a project report form that has to be filled up by the candidates. There are two sections in this form for you to fill up.

Section 1: Key Knowledge Areas

This section is further divided into two chapters namely Essential Core ICT Knowledge and General ICT Knowledge.

Essential Core ICT Knowledge

This chapter has two topics namely ICT Professional Knowledge and ICT Problem Solving. You have to choose only one from these two and fill up respective fields.

Topic I: ICT Professional Knowledge

You are most likely to develop your ICT skills from either an academic field or professional experience. Under this topic, there are 5 subtopics. You have to describe your knowledge about only the two most relevant ones as per your experience.

Topic II: ICT Problem Solving

This topic intends you to declare your innovative ideas. In this topic, you have to choose any two from three subtopics.

General ICT Knowledge

In this chapter, you have to choose only one subtopic among three.

Topic III: Technology Resources

In this section, you have to choose two sub-points from three and reflect your knowledge and skills.

Subtopics

• Fundamentals of hardware and software
• Management of data and information
• Networking and Data Communication

Topic IV: Technology Building

In this part, you have to choose two out of three subtopics in your RPL report.

Subtopics

• Human factors
• Development and Acquisition of Information System
• Programming

Topic V: ICT Management

In this part, you have to choose two out of four subtopics in your RPL report.

Subtopics

• Security Management
• Management of ICT service
• Management of IT project
• Organisational issues and IT Governance

Section 2: RPL Project report

• In this section, you have to discuss two project reports and you must consider one project undertaken within the last three years. The other one must be within the last five years. The details that you should include in the reports are mentioned below.
• In the General project details part, you have to mention the title of the project, team size and duration along with the project stages.
• In the nest part, you have to declare the roles and responsibilities along with faced issues and opportunities. You must mention personal contributions in these projects and your solutions to the identified issues.
• In the next part, you have to discuss the problem-solving method used in the project and list down the deliverables.
• In the last part, the results of the projects must be mentioned and you will also have to discuss the success level of the project. In this part, you can include your personal insights about what could have developed the project outcome and enhance success.
