Who Needs the ACS Skills Assessment?
The ACS skill evaluation is a necessary step that must be completed when applying for a new graduate visa, a Skilled Nominated Visa, or a Skilled Independent visa under subclass 189, 190, and 491, respectively. Corresponding evaluations must be completed for their respective Occupation Lists. In addition, the evaluation is also needed for the Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485): The Graduates Workstream.
Their evaluation is required only for the visas above when the occupation appears on the Medium and Long Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or the Short Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL).

The Essential Documents for ACS Migration Skill Assessment!
For a visa, identification and proof of qualifications are required. Therefore, you need to provide various supporting documents.
1. Birth Certificate: The birth certificate should include comprehensive details, and these details must match all other documents.
All details on your citizenship card must be the same as on your birth certificate, including the date, your name, and your father’s name.
2. Passport: Submit only the page with your details. The full passport is not required.
3. Identification Documents (More Than One Apart from a Passport): Along with a passport, two more official documents must be submitted. One of the documents should include a photograph.
The country of issue of the two identification papers can be either the country of birth or the country of residence.
4. Certificate of Completion for Senior Secondary or 12th Grade Education: An award or certificate is issued for the completion of senior secondary or 12th grade. Such documentation is required for tertiary education in Australia.
Important details about your degree that you must include:
- The terms Master of Computer Science and Master of Information Technology illustrate degree titles or awards.

- The date of completion of the degree must be provided.

5. Transcripts: The subject titles on the academic certificates must correspond to the subjects and their respective grades earned in each course.

The ACS considers undated flat monthly periods, such as “June 2018 to March 201,9” of work ending on the last day of the month for calculating your total period of work experience.

7. Resume (Selective):While submitting a resume is not required, it is required by the Australian Computer Society criteria. It is up to you whether or not to send your resume to the evaluation body.
What is the requirement for ACS migration assessment? (Eligibility Criteria)
In Australia, the ACS handles the evaluation of Australian migration applicants, as they are the relevant ICT authority in the country. The following is a summary of the criteria for the assessment of authorities:
Age Criteria: Must not be older than 45 years.
English Language Proficiency: Applicants must be proficient in English and must prove their proficiency through an approved test such as TOEFL iBT, IELTS, PTE Academic, or Cambridge C1 Advanced.
Academic Qualifications: For the nominated occupation, a degree or higher qualification in ICT must be held. A degree or diploma in ICT must be held. Non-Australian qualifications are subject to an ACS Assessment to determine equivalency to an Australian qualification.
Relevant Work Experience: For the nominated occupation, at least three years of relevant work experience must be held.

Competencies Checked by ACS: To Assess Whether the Abilities and Experience Meet the Requirements of the Australian IT Sector.
The Points Test: At least 65 points must be scored with regard to age, the English language, academic credentials, employment history, and any other relevant factors.
The Nomination Requirement: For certain types of visas, a nomination must be made either by an Australian employer or by a state or territory government.
The Skills Assessment Fee: Fees related to skills assessments must be paid.

Step 8: Appeal the ruling if neededUsually, the ruling is disappointing. Nevertheless, if you are convinced the assessment ruling is incorrect, you may file a formal appeal within 60 days from the date of the outcome letter.
If there is no ICT qualification, the RPL Form must be completed. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) applies to those with extensive ICT industry experience but lacking an ICT degree. Even without ICT skills, such individuals need to complete the RPL form.
Since you do not have an ICT qualification, you are expected to prove your competencies and knowledge in the ICT sector via work experience on this RPL form.
Who is eligible for RPL?
An individual looking to have prior learning recognised and who has legitimate work experience, knowledge, and skills tied to the study area can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Regardless of whether you’ve worked in Australia or abroad, having genuine work experience won’t help you because the process is entirely data-driven. To show real experience, all you need to do is demonstrate your skills to the assessor.

An ACS migration assessment is also required for the qualified migrants wishing to apply for the TSS visa under the Medium-Term stream.
